BIOGRAPHY

Biography - Shed_edited.jpg

My work reflects the contrast between the constant movement of tidal water, rivers and sea; light, shade, textures, and our need to control our environment - wharves, groynes and boats.

I interpret these themes through my love of the Suffolk Coast and Venice, in paintings and prints.

My collagraph prints are produced on a large hospital iron mangle that has been converted into an etching press.
I create printing plates on silver foil backed card, scratching into the surface with sharp implements and adding sand and glue for tonal effects. An inked plate and paper is passed through rollers to transfer the printed image.

Studied Sculpture at Liverpool College of Art.

Taught Art in schools in Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire.

I am a member of the artist run Eagle Gallery in Bedford, the Beds Artist Network and the Southwold Art Society.
